Strange things...... Okay - don't think for a minute that I am complaining but I've lost more weight. Weird. I have a very strange feeling that I have been on a 6 month plateau! LOL! |

| Karin- Congrats on the lb drop. What a nice present from your body for treating it with love and respect. Enjoy the marathon (shopping that is) and remember that correct fitting clothing is a right, not a privalige. Karin 218/128/130 :P Whoo hoooo. In the 120s. That's pretty awesome! Sorry, no explanations here. Maybe you worked out a little harder than you realized or your metabolism has nudged. would be interesting to get it checked. Have fun shopping! Good luck to hubby. I can't imagine running for over 3 hours. 3 minutes still thrills me. LOL. Becky 375/254/175 |

| Karin- Woo Hoo! Isn't it cool that our bodies can actually TELL that we are trying to lose now?? Smiles... I find that when I up my calories slowly and full of fruits and veggies, I loose. Crazy, but my body actually LIKES the healthy food and exercise!! Have a great time in CHicago...Ah, one of my favorite places outside of CA!! emjay ~ whatever you do, take care of your shoes ~ 251 at highest weight Began transition 5/30/05 @ 151 201.4/146/125 Mini Goal #3: Sign up for a race.... |

| Hi Karin. I think your body is just ready to let any extra fat go. You are short, like me and I had to let my mentality get readjusted to be under 110 if that is where my body landed and I am in great health. I have a normal fluctuation of 3lbs. Anything beyond that felt like I was walking on water baloons. I have had to balance and tweek and adjust and just get comfortable with the new me and let it happpen, however, it is an ongoing process. I work at it daily, but I am not agonizing over the situation as I did when at the beginning and I was anxious to be THIN yesterday. | ||||||||

| I'm actually really glad you brought this up. I've been thinking about posting about this, but wasn't sure if people would be annoyed/understanding. I've been trying to maintain at 145, but have unintentially dropped as low as 138. Yes, I'd love to lose some of the excess fat on my legs, but I'm in a size four for dresses and skirts and don't really want to go smaller up top. My collarbones & ribs are already really prominent in my chest area, so I can't imagine what my upper half would look like if I dropped enough to have thinner legs. I've upped my calories to around 1800, but it has absolutely been a struggle to maintain and NOT lose. I never thought I'd say that. Since my pituitary gland has shut down, presumably from the weight loss, it is really important for me to be able to maintain. I personally need to maintain if there is any hope for my pituitary glad to kick back in. As for you, if you're healthy overall and still feel great, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I don't think this is excess fat you have lost. I do think this might be your body's way of "adjusting." Skin shrinks and tightens, fat cells contine to shrink. I know you've mentioned needing smaller clothes without weight loss, and I think the drop on the scale is just part of that adjustment. Maybe you are right. Maybe your body is learning to use more calories efficiently. Sounds like you really are revving that metabolims of yours! Let us know if your RMR has changed. I hope you have a great time in Chicago. I've shopped on Michigan Ave twice in the past week & a half and plan on hitting the Woodfield mall this Sunday! With the colder weather this weekend I realized I really don't have anything for this weather. Good luck to your husband on Sunday and I hope you all have a great time! | Nicole - Its HARD to find the balance isn't it?! When I upped to about 1600 cals I thought - oh this is it - no way will I maintain. Then I lost. So I've upped to about 1800 - some days even 2000. Our activity levels support it. Its a foreign concept to me as I've never been this active. There are days that I lower my intake when I know I won't be as busy but most days I don't even sit down. I feel great and look great so I'm not worried. I am in about a 4 skirt/dress too! Pants I'm about an 8 sometimes a 6. Ah, Marshall Fields was very good to me this weekend. I love the State Street store - can't fathom it as a Macy's!! I need to go to Woodfield - I may have a roadtrip in my future. Its only a 7 hour drive! Glad to hear from you! | Karin - Congrats to your hubby - squeaked in, but he's in and that's all that's important. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time shopping - I can smell the smoke in NY!! My sis didn't qualify for Boston - she ran with some friends and they decided to stick together for the whole run (one of them had been ill, so they took it easy). So she's going to run West Palm in December and try then. She figured it would be easier to get her time down there with less folks running. Looks like a trip to FL is in the works!! I have to admit I had butterflies before the gun went off (and I wasn't even there!!). Now it's in the back of my mind that I want to run a marathon. We'll see..... | Chicago is like a big party - so its good your sister and her friends had fun together while doing something truly amazing. It took DH 5 years to get this Boston time. Tell your sis it takes time. DH's 1st marathon was 5:30. Each year he has improved. His recovery from it has also improved. There were more 1st time marathoners this year than any other year and you could feel their excitement!! I love the 1st timers - they are so inspiring! I smell a marathon in your future. How cool would it be to run one with your sister?!!!! DO IT!!!!
